As Program Director of WIA Services, Joanna provides staff support to the Chicago Workforce Investment Board (CWIB), coordinates the MOU for the City of Chicago with the required Partners in the Chicago One Stop system, coordinates CWIC activities with the regional initiatives of the Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago and provides policy research and analysis on workforce development and youth workforce issues.

While at CWIC, she has integrated the activities of the CWIB with CWIC’s communication strategy, elevating the critical initiatives that the organization identifies for business and civic leaders and the media.

Joanna was previously the Acting Executive Director of the Chicago Workforce Board (CWB), having also served as its Deputy Director and Director of Youth Policy. Prior to the CWB, she was the Board Director of the Workforce Excellence Network, Director of Business Development for Questar Inc., and Executive Vice President for Public Media, Inc.

Joanna holds a masters in Library Science from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University. In 2002, Joanna received the Illinois Governor’s Award for Private Sector Leadership.
