As the Chicago Workforce Investment Council’s Policy Research and Management Fellow, Julie has managed diverse projects related to local labor market trends, economic and workforce development in regional clusters of industrial specialization, and career and technical education alliances in urban public school systems. She also serves as a member of the IBM Smarter Cities Initiative Workgroup, and works across sectors with organizations to promote collaborative approaches to policy analysis, development and implementation.

Prior to her work with CWIC, Julie worked as a Research Assistant with UIC’s Great Cities Institute and as the Communications Manager, in charge of corporate responsibility initiatives for a Chicago-based magazine and publishing firm.

Julie received her graduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago, during which time she also studied at the University of London. Her undergraduate degree in Communications is from North Park University.
